"the most natural looking foundation we tested"
Brightden took away an impact.com tracked link, which they run wherever they buy the placement: the ad itself is theirs and is delivered outside Geodesix. They also take the loader tag, which goes on the landing page rather than in the creative.
The irclickid is impact.com's and lands on the retailer's own domain. The subId1 carries the placement id, which is how a click is attributed back to the citation and its publisher.
The same tag their direct placements use, so a retailer running both pastes it once. It reads the subId1 off the landing URL and records an arrival against this placement.
Clicks only. A paid ad has no impressions or viewable citations: delivery is external, so nothing is countable before the click.
Both are counted on the landing page, by two independent scripts. Ours is a check on Impact's, not a different measurement, so the two should track closely and the gap is what to read.
| Measure | Counted | In range |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks | impact.com, on the landing page | 2,140 |
| Arrivals | our loader, on the landing page | 1,884 |
| Gap | load timing, blockers, or stripped parameters | 256 · 12% |
Clicks are what bills. Arrivals are ours and exist so a paid ad can be attributed back to its citation without waiting on an Impact report, and so this placement can reach Verified at all. A small gap is ordinary; a gap near 100% means the loader is not on the landing page, which is what the retailer's own Verify installation check reports. This comparison is internal: the retailer's page shows clicks alone, because they need to paste the code rather than know why we want it.
If the program goes to Disconnected, the link keeps working and the clicks stop being attributed, so the retailer spends without being counted. Tracking is where that shows.
Byrdie is above the $0.10 default, set on its Pricing tab. A paid ad cannot be hard capped, because delivery is external; it can only be paused.
This is one retailer's paid ad. The same citation is placed by three others.
